David S. Rachford, founded his Santa Barbara based firm in 2001 to help business owners and professionals develop, implement and maintain strategies that reduce taxes; legally and ethically.
Rachford & Company, Inc. provides businesses with monthly services such as bookkeeping, payroll processing services, and tax planning & preparation. Prior to opening his own practice, he worked with regional CPA Firms in Walnut Creek, CA and Santa Barbara, CA in the areas of Tax Preparation, Audit, Review and Compilation Services.
Mr. Rachford’s experience working with business owners led Mr. Rachford to find a unique method of delivering accounting information in a way that helps business owners develop tax strategy more effectively. Resulting in increased profits to business owners while reducing the impact of taxes and lifting the administrative burden of bookkeeping & payroll. Mr. Rachford is the exclusive provider of the “Accountants Special Business Package”® in the South Coast area.
Mr. Rachford is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, and the National Association of Small Business Accountants and the California Society of CPAs.
Mr. Rachford earned his B.A. in Business Economics with an emphasis in Accounting from the University of California, Santa Barbara and holds a Certified Public Accountant license issued by the California Board of Accountancy. Mr. Rachford is also a Personal Financial Specialist (PFS) designated by the AICPA. He holds NASD Series 7 and 66 Licenses, and is a General Securities Representative of ProEquities, Inc. a Registered Broker-Dealer.
Mr. Rachford is a Veteran of the U.S. Navy trained in “Damage Control.” He is an accomplished teacher and supervisor in a production oriented organization and was awarded the Navy Achievement Medal for leadership in 1994. While on duty, Mr. Rachford also earned the South East Asia Service Ribbon, Armed Forces Expeditionary Ribbon for involvement with “Operations Restore Hope” in Somalia, 1993, in addition to the National Defense Medal and Combat Efficiency Ribbon.
Mr. Rachford has been a member of the Rotary Club of Santa Barbara since 2000, and teaches leadership skills to Rotary Leaders throughout California. Mr. Rachford is also a member of Toastmasters International, and is a graduate of Leadership Santa Barbara County.
